regulations needed to operate cutting and sewing equipment safely. This should include:
At least one regulation for the safe use of cutting equipment and one regulation for sewing
equipment.

Create a toile by cutting out your pattern from a base fabric like calico and sewing it together. This will
help you avoid expensive mistakes by not wasting your chosen fabric.
In your sketchbook:
Add photographs of the toile construction process
Add annotations to your photographs explaining your sewing process
Examine how the pattern sews together and check the fit on the body. Add photographs to your
sketchbook showing:
The toile on the person you created the garment for before making any alterations
The alterations you will need to make to ensure a good fit. Add annotations to these photographs
with your suggested alterations

Plan and lay out the pattern on your chosen fabric in a way that minimises fabric waste. Ensure your
grain lines are correctly aligned. Add photographs of your "lay plan" to your sketchbook.
