Hit Save frequently! Always save your map before you close your browser.
The purpose of this lab is to get you familiar with creating and using dashboards to visualize and present
data of various formats. You can have a map that zoom in on the area of interest along with charts (for
numeric data), lists, and details (for all types of data, including ordinal nominal data).
You will use ESRI’s earthquake monitoring data in real time to create a dashboard. The main layer for this
task is Magnitude of recent earthquake. You can also explore other layers on your own to enrich your
map. Your final dashboard will look (somewhat) like the figure below. You do not have to replicate 100%
of what I did (e.g., color, size, contents, etc. may differ). It’s more important to know how to use the tools
and apply them in the future.
Once you completed the dashboard, your dashboard should look similar to this one. Please note that the
information will not likely be the same because the data is updated on a regular basis.
